Autoresponder: A web-based script that automatically manages many email addresses and sends out pre-written emails to them on a scheduled basis.

Hosting Provider: A company that will host all of your website files for you and place them on their servers so other people can access you website.

DNS: Domain name servers are a set of names that you will receive from your host to give to your domain registrar. Domain name servers tell the domain registrar where to point your URL to. If you do not set the DNS in your domain registrar you website will not become available to be viewed on the web. Usually your domain name servers will start with NS1. or NS2. To find out what your domain name servers are you will need to contact your hosting provider.

Domain Name: A Domain name is the URL of your website. (For example, the Google search engine owns the domain name www.Google.com)

Broadcast Email: When you broadcast an email to a mailing list this means you will send one email to your entire list of subscribers at the same time.

Affiliate Marketing: Whenever you hear someone say they are using affiliate marketing in their business, this means they allow other people to sell their products to earn earn a commision One of the largest companies to use affiliate marketing is Google. A few years ago they released an affiliate program called "adsense."

Outsourcing: This term usually means hiring one and more people to work for you that are located somewhere else. Usually when online marketers outsource they hire overseas. They outsource from another country to save money from hiring in house.

Bonuses: Bonuses are additional products that you may or may not own that you give away free with your product.

Testimonials: Testimonials are pretty self-explanitory. When marketers create sales pages they usually have a few testimonials included on the page. Testimonials are words of praise from a customer about the product they purchased.

SEO: Search engine optimization is the art of programming a website to naturally rank higher in the search engines.

White Hat Tactics: Tactics that are encouraged by the search engines.

Black Hat Tactics: Tactics that are not encourage by the search engines. Using black hat tactics have a high chance of getting your website banned from the search engines. I do not recommend using black hat tactics.

Joint Venture: A partnership between two or more people to work together for the benefit of making money!

SEO (Search Engine Optimization): The art of optimizating words on a webpage to rank higher in the search engines.

URL: Universal Resource Locator. This is the web site address of any web site on the internet.

Redirect URL: A redirect url is a web address that automatically forwards to another location on the internet.

Upsell: An upsell usually happens right after you prospect buys a product from you. Immediatly after purchase they are redirected to another page where they can buy another product from you. Upsells can also be very effect when you send out broadcasts emails to your customers and offer them more products to purchase.

FTP: This stands for File Trasnfer Protoco. FTP is the act of uploading web site to a hosting server so you can view them on the internet!

Freelancer: A freelancer is someone is sells his/her services on the net without a long term contract. A freelancer is like a drifter who is hired by someone new everyday, week, month..etc
